IT sector is growing in TN: Jaya

That information technology sector in Tamil Nadu is growing at a phenomenal pace with software, IT enabled services, and BPO sector showing soaring rates of growth is evident from the state receiving a burgeoning flood of foreign investments, said J Jayalalithaa, chief minister of Tamil Nadu, in a press release.
 
Addressing a 38 member Japanese delegation led by Hirotaro Yamasaki, mayor of Fukuoka city, she said that investment in Chennai is a value proposition, which goes much beyond labour arbitrage.
 
The state government would look into the possibility of creating a township- a veritable 'Little Japan' in Chennai that would address the housing, cultural, educational, entertainment, social and culinary needs of the community, the release added.
 
The government of Tamil Nadu has received assistance from the Japan Bank worth Rs 643 crore for the Tamil Nadu Afforestation Project Phase-I and Rs 567.42 crore for the implementation of the second phase of the same project for eight years starting from 2005-06 to 2012-13, the release added.
