J&K sees 20% turnout, moderate polling

With nearly 20 per cent of the 11 lakh electorate exercising their franchise till two hours before the close, moderate polling was today witnessed in most parts of the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency.

An estimated 19.26 poll percentage was recorded in the constituency till 3.00 pm, election officials said.

Chrar-e-Sharief assembly segment of Budgam district registered the highest 49.33 per cent of polling, while Habbakadal segment of Srinagar district, a stronghold of Hurriyat and other separatists who had called for a poll boycott, recorded the lowest turnout of 1.60 per cent.
