Jaipur to get Rs 100 cr bus terminus

An inter-state bus terminus (ISBT) will be built at Rs 100 crore in the city's Mansarovar area. This project would be undertaken under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JLNURM).

The Centre will meet 50 per cent of the cost in building the ISBT while the local civic bodies will meet the remaining 50 per cent. The inter-state bus terminus will also have a mechanical fitness centre and a well-equipped workshop.

There are plans to build other terminus at Jawahar Nagar, Vidyadhar Nagar and Pratap Nagar to cope with increasing intra-state bus traffic.

Similar terminus would also be built at Ajmer and Pushkar for which the JLNURM would contribute 80 per cent of the cost. The local bodies and the state government would meet the remaining cost.At present the inter-state bus terminus is located at Sindhi Camp.but as this is in the heart of the city.
