The fourth Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) will be organised in Jaipur from December 22-25. The convenor of the show, Rashmikant Durlabhji, said the precious stone emerald had been chosen as the theme of the show.

According to Durlabhji, Jaipur Jewellery Show 2005 had seen the presence of around 30,000 visitors who came to view the exhibits at 276 stalls.

He said, looking at the enthusiasm of the trading community, the organising committee of the show had taken up the task of arranging a series of activities to popularise the emerald at the national and international level.

"This exercise will be taken up in two years during which jewellers as well as others will be involved with the glorious legacy of the stone and each one will be made aware of the precious value, mystique and magic of emerald," he said.

According to Durlabhji, through this promotional exercise, the gem and jewellery trade of Jaipur, which was once known as the city of emeralds, will receive a boost.

"The purpose of evolving this theme is also to make JJS a complete gem and jewellery show in all respect and the ideal platform to make the brand 'Jaipur' popular at the international level," he said.
