Jaipur to host Stonemart

Jaipur will host the fourth India Stonemart""the super market of stones and stone products""from February 1 to 4.
 
The fair is being organised by the Centre for Development of Stones (CDoS), with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as the co-organiser. Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) is the principal sponsor of the event.
 
"The preparations for the fair are going on and visitor registrations indicate that the 4th edition of Stonemart would be bigger than the previous editions," N K Modi, vice-chairman, CDoS (Centre for Development of Stones) said.
 
The response from exhibitors has been overwhelming and in order to accommodate this demand one more hall has been added to the previous editions layout.
 
This year's exhibition would now be spread over 15,000 sq mt, Modi added.
 
Stonemart will have more than 250 exhibitors which includes most of the major stone companies from the country.
 
Fifteen states like Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh shall be represented through official state pavilions.
 
The fair also has a lot of international participation. China is participating with a country pavilion, where 30 companies will display their products.
 
Besides China, exhibitors shall also be present from Turkey, Egypt, Russia, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Turkey.
 
RK Gupta, CEO, CDoS, said, "India Stonemart will provide a platform for international exposure for the stone industry of Rajasthan. During the fair, the local industry will get to see many new technologies and tools which will also help in improving productivity and lowering the production cost for the Indian Stone industry."
 
India Stonemart 2007 would showcase the Indian stone industry in its totality-resources, capacity, capability, and the technological advancements; and will also act as a launching pad for newer products and technologies.
 
It will be a platform for vibrant varieties of marble, granite, sandstone, slate, limestone, quartzite and other decorative building stones, mining and processing machinery, tools and related services.
 
The fair will have a very strong business focus. The first three days of the fair would be only for business visitors and on February 4, the fair would be open to general public, Gupta said.
 
The visitor profile will comprise architects, civil engineers, builders, exporters, importers, quarry owners, processors, etc.
 
Visitor delegations are expected from all over the globe. A significant visitor response is expected from The US, Europe, Middle East, Africa, CIS countries and SAARC countries.
