Jalandhar city is set to become the complete hub of entertainment and time is not far away when it would run on the same platform as of a metro city having the same status as well. City's lap will be full of big shopping malls, multiplexes, marts and clubs very soon.

The projects of Ansal API (Shopping mall), Starcity (multiplex), Galleria, Centrum Jyoti mall are in the making and the Sarb multiplex is the first in the race to contribute to the development of the city.

The Grand Star city multiplex which would provide more facilities including five theatre halls, a discotheque, a kids zone, ATM facilities, franchisee coffee shops, jewellry shop, apparel showrooms and much more is all set to lure the residents or the city.

Says Damanvir Singh, the managing director of Starcity: "This is the first project of the Grand Multiplex Projects Ltd (GMPL) and we are looking forward to catch a tremendous response from Jalandhar and the nearby areas. It is a two storey building excluding a basement. While the basement would ideally be used for the kids zone, play station and ATMs, the ground floor makes place for the restaurant and international brand clothing showrooms."

Singh said that the first floor is dedicated to wedding shopping where facilities for formal-wear, jewellry shops, spa and parlours etc, would be provided.

Similarly, the second floor of the multiplex would cater to the recreational needs of the clients. Here, we would have five cineplexes, a discotheque, coffee shops and food courts, and all the floors would be connected through elevators and escalators.

Starcity has tied-up with some of the leading brands in food stores, clothing and even entertainment. These include KFC, Pizza Hut, Banie and Pizza Corner for foodstuff and the Carton, USL, Royal Sporting, Adidas, Killer, K-Lounge, Pepe, and Nike for clothing.

Ansal Highway Plaza, a retail shopping mall, would soon be launched in Jalandhar. Taking up retail space in the arcade will be top-of-the-line brands in menswear, women designwears and kidswear labels, leading music & electronic stores, sports brands, accessories, memorabilia and more.

Special promotions and pick and-drive offers would be an added attraction at the mall. The mall is strategically located on the outskirts of the city to provide an advantage of a relaxed environment.

Galleria, another mall with double basement is built near the Lal Rattan cinema hall of the city. It would be an exquisitely designed shopping mall with innovative patterns for effective showcasing of products.

The mall is being built in an area of 1.6 lakh square feet and owes connectivity to almost all the residential and commercial complexes of the city.
