Jaswant Singh to open India Economic Summit

 For the first time, the three-day summit will be supported by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP).

 The last India Economic Summit was inaugurated by management consultant CK Prahlad since the finance minister dropped out at the last moment. The organisers -- the World Economic Forum and the Confederation of Indian Industry -- had then said it did not need the support of the government since the summit was an industry get-together.
