JS Yadav new IICT director

 Yadav is one of the eminent organic chemists of the country. He made outstanding contributions in developing technologies for the vital drugs and key drug intermediaries.

 The achievements include Vitamin E, Pyrazinamide, the anti-TB drug, Mitoxantrone, an anti-tumour drug for cancer sufferers, Diltiazen for cardiac patients, Tamoxifen for breast cancer, and Ondansetron, an antiemetic drug.

 He pioneered the pheromone application technology in India through integrated pest management to control pests in cotton, rice, sugarcane and groundnut. He also developed Cypermethrin and Lambda-cyhalothrin, the new generation and diverse application based pyrethroids.
