Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Karnataka today held a meeting with Governor Rameshwar Thakur and discussed proposals and issues pending with the Centre, and proposed to be taken up in the upcoming Budget session of Parliament. |
Thakur noted that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his visit to the state in August last year had reviewed the state agriculture sector and Finance Minister P Chidambaram reviewed certain import investment proposals which required inter-ministerial coordination at Delhi and follow-up by the state government also. |
"We have been regularly monitoring the decisions taken at that review meeting and have also proposed several follow-up projects," Thakur told the meeting at Vidhana Soudha. |
"The Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, is also scheduled to review these pending proposals on the 20th of this month with state chief secretary and other senior officers." |
The Governor requested the MPs from Karnataka, which is under the President's Rule, to follow-up these projects and ensure that the requirements of the state for its progress and development. |
