K'taka polls: Unaccounted goods worth over Rs 6 lakh seized

According to police, refined oil cartons were seized while they were being illegally transported in a vehicle

Police seized unaccounted goods, including refined oil cartons, sarees, vanity bags and school bags, worth Rs 6.04 lakh here on Thursday during their checks in the run-up to the May 5 Assembly polls.

According to police, refined oil cartons were seized while they were being illegally transported in a vehicle. A handbill with the picture of JDS candidate B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan was also found in the vehicle.

In another instance, police confiscated 66 sarees and 18 vanity bags without any valid documents from a car. During a raid on a house at Valmikinagar, police recovered 540 school bags with a photographs of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa inside, police said. Chamarajpet police is probing all the three cases.
