Kalam proposes national mission for sight

President A P J Abdul Kalam has proposed a 'National Mission for Sight' involving mission-oriented doctors to eradicate blindness in the country.
 
Speaking at the World Sight Day celebrations held at the L V Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, Kalam said that there is a universal empathy to the visually-impaired.
 
Service-oriented doctors, coupled with the empathy, will enable the proposed national mission to achieve its objectives, the president said.
