To chart out a 10-year plan to catalyse growth in the industry
After making major strides in the information technology (IT) sector, the Karnataka government has identified tourism as a focused area.
As part of its initiatives to encourage tourism, the state government has roped in Deccan Aviations to operate feeder services to major tourist destinations in the state such as Belgaum, Hampy, Hubli, Hassan, Mysore and Mangalore from places like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Goa.
The state has also initiated negotiations with the Indian Railways to run a eco-tourism train along the west coast of Karnataka.
