Katra to be developed as tourist spot

The Jammu and Kashmir government has formulated a plan for the development of Katra, the base camp to the Vaishnodevi shrine, as a major tourist destination.
The plan envisaged development of infrastructure keeping in view the increase in the number of domestic and foreign visitors to the shrine, Tourism Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir said here yesterday.
Mir reviewed the facilities and discussed the construction of approach roads and the railway station at Katra.
