Kcdc Lines Up Rs 90-Crore Spend

As part of a promotional exercise to increase cashew cultivation in the non-traditional private sector, the Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation (KCDC)has taken up an expansion plan, spanning 13 years and involving a Rs 90-crore investment.

Around 800 hectares will be brought under cashew cultivation during this year at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

Besides this, the corporation is also planning to distribute one lakh high- yield cashew saplings to general farmers at a concessional rate to promote cashew cultivation in the non-traditional private sector.
