Kerala Eyes Plantations In Eco-Tourism Thrust

The Kerala government has initiated measures to tap the potential of plantations and agricultural holdings to add novelty to the experience of tourists.

The Home Stay Scheme (HSS), a project set up in this regard, is likely to be launched in the Wayanad district within a month. The district, with its large number of plantations and estates, is likely to be the hub of the project also.

Tourism minister K V Thomas said the government will encourage the plantation sector to contribute its might towards promoting eco-tourism, particularly in protected and reserved forest areas and wetlands.
