Kerala Leader'S Meeting Disrupted

Police said the trouble started when a group of people took out a procession in the Gandhi Maidan where a civic receiption was arranged for the former minister. The mob threw stones at the stage when Raghavan began to speak and the meeting was called off.

Police said UDF workers halped Raghavan to get into his car. The car was slightly damaged in stone throwing. A group of people, allegedly UDF workers, attacked policemen. Four police personnel suffered injuries, police said. The situation in the town was tense and minor clashes between CPI-M and Congress-I workers were reported. Congress-I workers were reporeted. Congress leader M K Raghavan and other UDF leaders were on the stage when the incident occured.
