Thiruvananthapuram-based Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has lined up a couple of insurance initiatives as it enters its fifth year of existence. |
The hospital also has charted out various programmes for its anniversary event to be held on March 17, which will include the formal accreditation of the hospital by the Australian Council for Health Care Standards International (ACHSI). With this, KIMS will become the first Indian hospital to get ACHSI accreditation. |
Talking to Business Standard ahead of KIMS anniversary celebrations, M I Sahadulla, chairman and managing director, said the hospital would soon announce a new insurance plan under the aegis of the KIMS Trust Trust for individuals who register at the hospital for treatment. |
The insurance plan, to be initiated in association with Star Health Insurance, will cover "individuals and family members for amounts of Rs 50,000, Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. The premium would vary according to the age," he said. |
The subsidised-premium insurance scheme is being initiated in association with the New India Assurance Company. |
