Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, allegedly involved in multi-crore scams while in office has been evading the summons of the Directorate of Enforcement and the Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau to appear before the agencies for interrogation.
One of Koda’s aide said that the former Jharkhand CM was busy in the elections of Jharkhand Assembly where his wife and his party’s candidates were contesting and hence it was not possible for him to appear before the agencies.
Koda’s aide said the former CM had requested both the agencies to fix the date after the elections end on December 18 for his appearance.
Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau has summoned the former CM to appear before it in connection with the disproportionate assets case on December 4.
It may be mentioned that Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau, under orders of the court, had lodged an FIR accusing the former CM (Koda), his two associates, Binod Kumar Sinha and Sanjay Choudhary and two former Jharkhand ministers, Harinarayan Rai and Enos Ekka of amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income long before the Enforcement Directorate had booked the former CM (Koda) and his two associates, Sinha and Choudhary and six others including former Jharkhand ministers, Bhanu Pratap Sahi, Kamalesh Singh and Bandhu Tirki under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act on October 9.
However, the Enforcement Directorate has sent fresh summons to the former Jharkhand ministers, Shahi, Singh and Tirkey for interrogation on December 4 after they did not respond to the first summons to appear for interrogation in New Delhi on November 18. The three former ministers, Shahi, Singh and Tirkey, summoned by the Enforcement Directorate have been contesting in the elections to the Jharkhand assembly.
