Kolkata Port Pilots To Refuse Sars-Hit Vessels

The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) across the world may threaten operations at Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) as pilots have refused to board ships having crew members with suspected SARS symptoms.

Pilots have informed port authority that they would be unable to provide pilotage to ships if its master announces presence of SARS patient among the crew.
