KVIC to set up consultancy service cell in Guntur

The Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) will set up a Rural Industries Consultancy Services cell at Guntur by the end of this financial year.
 
The cell will disseminate information on various issues such as registration of small-scale units, availability of raw materials, machinery, technical personnel, training centres, market potential, support extended by various government institutions and project formulation.
 
Releasing the Khadi Diary-2006' at a press conference, KVIB chairman Mariserla Sivannaidu said, "The Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), being implemented by the board, has received much acclaim from the Centre last year."
 
This financial year, the board had allotted Rs 18.05 crore for implementation of REGP to provide employment to 26,593 people across 22 districts in the state, he said.
 
Last fiscal, the board financed 1,001 projects with a budget of Rs 14.88 crore, providing employment to 28,102 people in the state.
 
In this financial year till date, the board has financed 843 units with about Rs 14 crore released as margin money, according to Sivannaidu. The diary contains the guidelines on margin money scheme of the REGP.
