Boart Longyear, the multinational mining, drilling and construction equipment manufacturer, has set up a wholly owned subsidiary, Boart Longyear India, in the capital to service markets in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Rakesh Dewan has been appointed managing director of the Indian arm.

The primary focus of the Indian subsidiary will be on providing products, services and after-sales support to the mining, road construction, power, water well and dimensional stone sectors.
