"All these years Asia had borrowed HR theories and style from Europe and America, and now Europe and US have begun borrowing HR theories and working styles from Asia."

These were some of the observations made by the speakers while announcing the international HR conference "" 'Emerging Asia "" an HR Agenda'. The conference will be held in Bangalore from October 19 to 21 at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The conference aims at highlighting and sharing the importance of the role that HR will play in transforming various sectors of the Asian economy.

Among those expected to participate in the conference are HR experts like David Garvin, professor at the Harvard Business School, Lynda Gratton, professor at the London Business School and Wayne Brockbank, professor at the Michigan Business School.

Also expected to be present is John Sullivan of the San Francisco State University.

"The conference is intended to highlight the role of the human side of transforming organisations in the context of the emerging, economically stronger and growth-led Asia," said R R Nair, advisor, Unilever.
