In keeping with an increasing demand for legal services in the corporate sector, Kolkata-based M K Ghosh and Co is planning to introduce the concept of legal research and analytic outsourcing services in India.
It plans to recruit 500 lawyers in the next five years, against 20 at present, to mark a pan-India presence. The company expects to have footprint in major metro cities in the next five years.
Mainak Ghosh, founder and partner of the company, said, "Often companies, law firms, lawyers , individuals and other establishments, while seeking legal authority in support of court cases, have to go through a large number of case laws and judicial decisions for the process of identifying and retrieving information necessary to support legal decision making. Our firm will provide the necessary information to the clients," said Ghosh.
Also corporates and business establishments were required to know changing provisions of laws for their statutory compliances day-to-day, he added.
"Research work is also very unpredictable and also does not guarantee the exact solution, which one is looking for, if not done in a specialised manner. Therefore research work is enormous time and cost consuming and also sometimes non-productive and irrelevant to one's case and issues, if not done properly," he said.
The advisory board of the company consists of retired chief justices, judges, senior lawyers and eminent jurists.
The company will use legal websites, database and e-library for updating information on latest laws, judgements and supportive authorities.
