LG India records highest turnover

The consumer durable company LG Electronics recorded a turnover of Rs 1,150 crore, an all-time high for the company according to a company release announcing its Q1 result ending April 2008.

The company's mobile GSM category has seen a sharp upswing with a turnover of Rs 700 crore, its highest so far with a growth graph of 58 per cent in the category as compared to the same period last year.

The company also registered a growth of 22 per cent in the month of April for its home appliances business.

This all-time high revenue of LG India in April 2008, since the company's inception in India in the year 1997, comes from 24 per cent contribution from consumer electronics, 60 per cent contribution from home appliances, 9 per cent contribution from IT products and 6 per cent contribution from GSM products.

Commenting on the exceptional performance of the company, V Ramachandran, director (sales and marketing), LGEIL said, "The month of April has seen LG Electronics strengthen its leadership in the industry with an all-time high turnover. We aim to continue generating significant growth with a wide range of products in various price points in order to cater to the different needs of our customers."
