Lokayukta raids nine officials

The Karnataka Lok Ayukta today raided residences and offices of nine senior officials on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to their income and seized property worth over Rs 19 crore.

Lok Ayukta sources said the total property seized was worth Rs 19.46 crore. Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of the Lok Ayukta today raided the workplace and houses of these officers, including D B Naik, Karnataka Administrative services (KAS), CEO, Belgaum and Govindraj, KAS, CEO, ZP, Tumkur, the sources said.

Raids were conducted at the places of T V Ramadas, joint director, Watershed Development Department, Bangalore, H A Hafeez, deputy director of town planning and his brother H A Iqbal, inspector of motor vehicles, the sources said.

 

Raids were also conducted at the office and house of Dayananda Poojari, DC of commercial taxes, Mangalore, K G Manjappa, assistant director of agriculture, Govindraj, CEO, ZP, Tumkur, Teja Naik, AEE, GFSCOM, Bellary, and Chandrashekhar, AE, BBMP, Bangalore.

Those raided were found to have assets including houses, lodges, sites, agricultural land, vehicles, ornaments, animal farm, commercial establishments, the sources said.
