Lucknow food fest to begin today

Nearly 160 companies and exhibitors are expected to participate in the India Food Expo (IFX) organised by the Indian Industries Association (IIA). The IFX, beginning tomorrow, will be inaugurated by Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh.
 
Anil Gupta, general secretary, IIA, said this is the third IFX to be organised by the IIA, which has attracted a record number of 160 exhibitors this time.
 
He said the exhibition will see a display of products and services from all over the country in six categories. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, exhibiters from Hyderabad, Amritsar, Delhi, Mumbai, Himanchal Pradesh Pune will also put up their stalls.
 
He said the exhibitors' categories would include machinery and emerging technologies, packaging trends, agro and food products and quality certification and publication.
 
The IIA official said a special pavilion for disseminating information regarding the various schemes run by different government agencies for food processing industry is also being set up for the prospective entrepreneurs and business persons.
 
Anil Gupta said the IFX would be of interest to all sections of society including the entrepreneurs, research students and academic world.
