M'shtra to send relief materials worth Rs 1 cr to J&K

The Maharashtra government has decided to send relief materials worth Rs 1 crore for the Jammu & Kashmir earthquake victims.
 
Chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh called a meeting of the top state government officials to provide immediate assistance to the victims. It was decided to dispatch 100 tents, 2,000 blankets and some medicine immediately through the Red Cross.
 
Another batch of 135 tents and 5,000 blankets will be sent after two days.
 
Deshmukh also spoke with the J&K chief minister Mufti Saeed over phone and expressed the states' solidarity with the people of J&K and assured of extending all possible help.
