Following the Gujarat model of development, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is offering red carpet welcome for the industrial investment in the state. A ten member delegation led by chief minister comprising senior government officials and business leaders from Madhya Pradesh, visited Pune on Wednesday to meet with corporations, institutions, organizations and city’s business community.
Addressing the media in Pune, Chouhan said, " Once upon a time MP was known as a bimaru state but the now the picture has changed drastically. There is a rapid infrastructure development is taking place in the state. The power is available for 24x7 for the industries. We have achieved double digit growth of 11.8 per cent in the current fiscal year.There are plenty of opportunities in Madhya Pradesh for the industries like automobile, IT, agriculture, mining and manufacturing. Government is committed to offer all kinds of facilities to industries willing to invest in the state."
According to Chouhan, the investment of Rs 84000 crore has been already made in the state in current fiscal year and out which projects worth Rs 28000 crore are already operational. It is expecting additional investment of Rs 1.10 lakh crore in the next two years.
Auto majors like Mahindra and Mahindra, John Deer, Force Motors Volvo has already invested in Madhya Pradesh. Chouhan has recently visited countries ike Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to attract investors.
Chouhan invited enterprises from automobile and engineering sectors to invest in Madhya Pradesh and benefit from state’s auto and engineering hub.
He emphasised on the strategic advantage Madhya Pradesh offers to the logistics companies due to its central location.
The state is organising an event 'Invest Madhya Pradesh' scheduled on October 28-30, in Indore. Pune based Bharat Forge is expecting to invest over Rs 400 crore in the state. The state has also invited education institutions from Pune to set up their campuses in Madhya Pradesh.
