Maha celebrates its 48th anniversary

Also present at the unfurling were Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Mumbai Mayor Dr Shubha Raul, Mumbai Sheriff Indu Shahani, and Director General of Police A N Roy.

Talking about the development of the state in all these years, the Governor said that Maharashtra has secured approval for 130 Special Economic Zones(SEZs), which is the highest in the country.

 

"The state has also attracted 95 mega project proposals with a proposed investment of Rs 120,000 crores. These projects would generate 207,000 jobs," the governor said.

The state has also announced a new housing policy with a view to provide adequate and affordable housing to the poor and middle class.

The governor also added that the state would construct a million affordable houses over the next two years under various national programmes.
