The oath taking ceremony of all newly elected members of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was completed today, a day after four MNS members were suspended for four years on charges of assaulting SP MLA Abu Asim Azmi, who took the oath in Hindi against their party leader Raj Thackeray's diktat.

Prominent among those who took oath on the second day of the three-day Legislative Assembly session included newly elected Congress MLAs Amit Deshmukh, Prashant Thakur and Rajiv Satav.

All the members took oath in Marathi while BJP member Jaikumar Rawal took oath in Ahirani, the local dialect of North Maharashtra.

The House assembled at 1100 hours and was adjourned for tomorrow within 18 minutes.
