However, much sheen of the Bill has been taken off due to the central government's refusal to allow the state government to exclude the SEZs from the scope of various labour laws.

Addressing a press conference here today, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh announced that the Bill will be introduced in the monsoon session of the state assembly along with the Bills controlling the prices of seeds for cotton, amendment Bill to control moneylending practices.

It may be recalled that the state cabinet passed the Bill in 2006 and sent it to the central government for its clearance.

However, after two years of correspondence between the Centre and the state government, the central government cleared the Bill two months back, but asked the state government to exclude provisions like exempting SEZs from laws like the Bombay Shop and Establishment Act.
