Maharashtra Govt to step up demand for IIM

"The state is going put some proposals to the HRD Ministry along with other pending demands," State Minister for Higher and Technical Education Dilip Walse Patil said.  

Officials from Higher and Technical Education Department also said that setting up an IIM is likely to figure during the meeting.  

Maharashtra has more than 120 management institutes but not a single IIM, according to a government report. The financial capital is home to hundreds of corporates.        

 

In its 11th five-year plan, the HRD ministry had announced setting up 45 new higher education institutions
