Maharashtra passes PSU rejig Bill

All the state corporation bodies would not be closed and the economic viability of each of these would be taken into consideration before taking any decision, said Sunil Deshmukh, minister of state for finance. He was speaking in a debate on the Maharashtra State Public Undertakings (restructuring) Bill.
 
"According to the bill the government would look to revive, reorganise, restructure all state corporations after considering its economic viability and fesability," said the minister.
 
He added the governement has a binding to take a decision of the expert committee recommendations that has been appointed to look into these sick bodies within 3 months.
 
The Maharashtra State Public Undertakings (restructuring) Bill was unnanimously passed in the upper house. The bill had already been approved by the lower house earlier.
