A major fire broke out in amulti-storeyed building on the busy Park street area here today with several people believed to be trapped.
Nearly 100 firemen were battling the fire which started from the lift on fifth and sixth floors, fire-brigade sources said.
Smoke was billowing out from the building and the area has been cordoned off to facilitate smooth fire fighting operation.
