The flagship Make in India initiative should focus equally on services trade and exports, Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia said on Monday.
Speaking at the curtain raising event for the Global Exhibition on Services (GES), the governments annual exhibition on services sector, Teaotia said India met almost 50% of its current account deficit from exports in services.
However, this was concurrent to the country accounting for less than 2% of the global services exports.
The GES would allow the government to look at issues of strategic importance with reagrds to foreign trade partners, Teaotia said.
