Six days ahead of her party's plan to lay siege to the Tata Motors small car plant at Singur, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today invited Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for talks, but the TC supremo said it could be held only if the government returned the 400 acre land to "unwilling farmers".

In his letter to Banerjee, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of the project in the state.

Bhattacharjee said that he or the Industry minister were willing to talk to either Banerjee or any representative deputed by her.
