Around 250 Maoists torched 47 vehicles at the camp office of Udaipur-headquartered GR Infraprojects Limited in Morangi, 15km from Hazaribagh town in Jharkhand on Saturday night.

The contractor’s firm was awarded to build a 71km stretch four-laning work of NH-33 project between Hazaribagh and Ranchi at a cost of Rs 625 crore by March 2012. But the contractor’s project manager at the site Rajesh Kumar said that the project would be delayed another year.

The Maoists burnt trucks, dumpers, mixers and buses of the contractor’s firm. The contractor’s site manager said 30 heavy vehicles, mostly trucks and dumpers were completely gutted in the fire while 17 others were partly damaged.
