Chief minister K Rosaiah has agreed to release a matching grant of Rs 5 crore each to the ten new universities for development of campuses and infrastructural facilities.
He also agreed to consider releasing additional grants from lumpsum budgetary provision to old universities to meet the expenditure on implementation of revised scales.
The new universities, which have been granted affiliation from 2010-2011, need to set up examination, academic and confidential sections, an academic audit cell, college development cell and affiliation sections.
There was a proposal for a uniform academic calendar for all universities and half-yearly performance reports, for which specific formats were designed and sent to all universities.
A proposal to organise short-term training for undergraduate teachers was also put up, a release said.
