HOSPIMedica India, an international medical equipment industry exhibition, is being held at HITEX trade fair grounds here from February 14 to 16.

The ninth annual event in the country and for the first time in the south is being organised in association with Ficci by Duesseldorf, a German trade fairs major that organises the world's largest medical exhibition MEDICA in Germany.

The HOSPIMedica exhibition with 80 Indian and foreign participants cover areas like medical equipment, hospital suppliers, diagnostics, disaster management and rehabilitation, Stephen Kueppers, the project manager of Duesseldorf, told the media today.

Major Indian companies participating in the exhibition include L & T Medical, Siemens India, Philips Medical Systems, BD India, Reliance Life Sciences, B Braun Medical and BOC India, besides the Department of Atomic Energy. While there is a group participation from Germany, Austria and China, individual participations would take place from Israel, UK, Singapore, Russia, Hungary, France and Italy.

Apollo Hospitals, associated with the exhibition, will organise visits to its local hospital to help foreign participants and delegates understanding the functional mechanism and requirements of Indian hospitals.
