Million Dollar Round Table convention in Mumbai

The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Day will be celebrated in India in the last week of this month. To be inaugurated by MDRT president Stephen Rothschild, the event will be held at Hotel Renaissance in Powai and will be attended by top dignitaries from insurance companies.

The purpose is to spread awareness and increase India's participation in the MDRT convention in the US and also with a view to bring the MDRT chapter to India, said R K Shetty, zone chairman (India, Sri Lanka and Nepal).

MDRT is the most prestigious organisation of insurance agents and now grown to more than 32,000 members. More than 450 top life insurance companies are represented at the round table.

The Round Table remains the goal of every life insurance agent in the world. Its membership is recognised internationally as the standard of sales excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

One of the most important objectives of the MDRT has been to uncover successful sales ideas and techniques that would help beginners in insurance profession to become top notch professionals.

In order to give the members the experience of MDRT, some of the country's leading MDRT agents, MDRT area chair and MDRT local chairs have come together to hold the MDRT Day celebrations in India, exactly on the lines of MDRT conventions so that those who are unable to go to the US would get the thrill of MDRT conference in the country itself.
