The International Mining & Machinery Exhibition (IMME 2004) in Kolkata between November 24 and 27 will be jointly organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the central ministry of mines and minerals and Coal India Limited.
 
Chattisgarh as partner state would showcase its mineral deposits and mining opportunities.
 
The expected business to be generated would be Rs 600 crore, according to V R S Natarajan, head of the organising committee and also chairman and managing director, BEML.
 
"Officials of major equipment manufacturing companies, and earth moving and construction equipment are to participate. At the time when government is encouraging foreign investment in mining sector such an opportunity will create a chance for domestic players to benefit ", said Natarajan.
 
Indian mining sector stakeholders would get a chance to interact with top global players as the exhibition will have a two day conference running at the side with six technical sessions.
 
The summit will have mining companies, equipment manufacturers and other stakeholders displaying technology, safety and environmental equipment, and exploring investment opportunities. The 11,000 square metre show will have South Africa as the partner country and was expected to attract over 300 exhibitors.
 
Delegates from Iran, South Africa , United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Russia and Canada have confirmed.
