Major and medium industries minister Murughesh Nirani has announced a Rs 2-crore grant for the development of industries in Belgaum district.
He was speaking at an awards presentation function organised by the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Udyambag here.
The grant will be utilised to improve link roads, water supply channels and drainage system in industrial areas.
The minister said steps will be taken to widen the road from Tilakwadi III Gate to Macche, where many industries are located. The road, being narrow, is prone to accidents, he added.
Nirani said basic facilities like land, water and electricity will be provided to those who set up industries in the state.
