Ministerial panel to look at AMP implementation

The heavy industries and public enterprises ministry will set up a monitoring committee to oversee the implementation of the automotive mission plan 2006-2016 (AMP), comprising representatives of relevant ministries and the industry.

It will also restructure the development council for the automotive industry, said minister for heavy industries and public enterprises Santosh Mohan Dev.

AMP has been referred to the parliamentary standing committee for review, the minister said, "We hope the Committee will strongly support our initiative and come out with specific recommendations that will facilitate its implementation."
