Modi invites NRIs to partner in development

Lauding Gujarat's octroi-free regime committed to remove hurdles for the growth of trade and business, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday claimed the state had the best environment for trade and business in the country.
 
Speaking at the 'Interaction Gujarat Session' with NRIs on the occasion of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas in Delhi, Modi apprised the success story of development and said good governance, investment-friendly government and integrated approach had led to industrial progress in the state, a release issued by the state government stated.
 
He further said that recently the Deutsche Bank Research Group had carried out an analysis on the investment-scenario of different states in India. The findings revealed that Gujarat scored the highest points in terms of socio-economic and infrastructure factors.
 
Extending an invitation to participate in the Kite Festival and Vishwa Gujarati Parivar Mohotsav being held from January 11-13, 2008, in Ahmedabad, Modi appealed to the NRIs to become a partner in further development of the state, which is now focused on human resource development.
 
In his welcome address, Gujarat Health, Tourism and NRG Minister, Jaynarayan Vyas also highlighted the opportunity of medical tourism in the state.
