More opt for basic connections in Sept

 The number of new subscribers added by private basic operators has overtaken the increase in the cellular subscription base for the first time.

 While cellular subscription base has gone up by over 9 lakh in September, basic operators have added 9.25 lakh new users, riding on the popularity of the Wireless in Local Loop (WLL) limited mobility, which added 7 lakh new subscribers.

 Overall, the number of wireless subscribers has gone up by 16 lakh, with cellular subscription base touching 18.3 million and WLL mobility subscribers at 4.6 million users.
