GAC Gum Processors Ltd, Surya Fresh Foods Ltd, PBG International Ltd, and Lokpriya Masale have given shape to their investment plans of Rs 14 crore, Rs 10 crore, Rs 2 crore, and Rs 700,000, respectively. |

Jaya Foods, a Bhubaneshwar-based company, has shown interest and asked for land in the park to produce pickles, jam, jelly, and squash. Another firm, L Com Ltd, had proposed to set up a unit in the food park with an investment of Rs 1.10 crore to produce fried dal, bhujia, and namkeen (snacks), said an official of the MP Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam. |
"Two more firms from Bhubaneshwar are in talks with us, and we expect they will be allotted land next month. |
The construction for the units will begin soon, to be completed by next year," KK Tiwari, managing director, Jabalpur Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN), told Business Standard. |
Jaya Foods, according to him, is planning to invest Rs 54 lakh initially, and it may go up to Rs 1 crore. Another Bhubneshwar-based firm is in talks with the AKVN to invest Rs 1.05 crore in manufacturing snacks but the proposal is yet to take shape. |
Another firm has proposed an investment of Rs 1.10 crore for manufacturing ginger garlic paste. A Jabalpur-based firm, Shanti Masala Udyog, has asked for land to produce packed spices with an investment of Rs 50 lakh. The firm is expected to employ 100 people. |
"Discussions for concessions and sops are on, and the process of land allotment will start soon," said Tiwari, adding, "four firms have already acquired land in the area and their production will start by March next year." |
The total investment is likely to reach Rs 50 crore with the commencement of operations of 15 expected units in the park, which faced tough competition from Maharashtra. |
Established three years ago, the Boregaon food park has been created with a central assistance of Rs 4 crore, the MP government has contributed Rs 3 crore, and internal accruals have been Rs 1.44 crore. |
