MP increases dearmess allowance

The Madhya Pradesh government has approved 8 per cent dearness allowance to state employees and pensioners. The increased allowance will be paid with effect from October this year.

Those teachers working in panchayat and local bodies like municipal run schools will be paid dearness allowance at 15 per cent. The approved increase will put additional financial strain of Rs 1,250 crore on state exchequer.

In another decision state government has decided to give revised pay-scale to teachers of government aided polytechnic college and women’s polytechnic colleges. This will also include librarian and other staff. The state cabinet today also decided to revise pay scales, terms and conditions of services of teachers and other teaching staff of All India Technical Education Council. The revised pay-scale, terms and conditions will be in accordance with the recommendations of the council. Also the superannuation has been raised from 62 to 65 for those who are engaged in classroom teaching in the council.
