The Madhya Pradesh government has launched a redensification plan and is planning to invest Rs 1,000 crore in the next five years to create public and private assets. The state housing board will be the nodal agency.

According to a senior official, the MP government is the first in the country to create assets in this manner.

Speaking to Business Standard, Raghva Chandra, commissioner of MP Housing Board, said seven schemes had been identified and work on some of them had been started in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior.

In the second stage, government-occupied buildings and institutions in the prime localities or places of business importance would be developed into residential and commercial complexes, he added.
