The government will present the full budget in July this year.
Amid uproar over professional board examination scam in the House, the state finance minister Jayant Malaiyya presented the vote-on-account. He also tabled the third adjunct budget of Rs 745.93 crore for 2013-14.
Of the total demand of Rs 51,674 crore, the state has sought Rs 2,577.84 crore for school education, Rs 1,561.94 crore for civil supplies, Rs 480 crore for higher education, Rs 159.35 crore for health and Rs 194 crore for medical education. An amount of Rs 56 crore has been earmarked for preparations of Simhastha (the great bathing festival of Ujjain celebrated in a cycle of twelve years). Urban bodies will get financial support to the tune of Rs 2,265.79 crore while Rs 4,256.45 crore has been set aside for panchayati raj institution.
The state assembly will debate the budget on Wednesday.
