More than 10 companies have proposed to augment the cement production capacity in MP further by at least 25 million tonnes with a combined investment of Rs 10,000 crore. |

The cement production of the state has witnessed a growth rate of 4.49 per cent during April-September 2007 with a huge quantity of 9.515 million tonnes against 9.106 million tonnes during April-September 2006-07. |
The companies which have recently proposed to set up shops in MP include: Platinum Cement Ltd (60,000 metric ton of ordinary cement and 39,000 metric tonnes of Portland cement) at Nagar (Dhar district), Rashmi Metaliks Limited (3 million tonnes per annum), KJS Cement (1.5 million tonnes), Sarthak Industries Ltd (1.5 million tonnes approximately), Rungta Mines Ltd (1 million tonnes approximately), Adhunik Corporation Ltd (4 million tonnes), BLA Power Pvt Ltd (one million tonnes), DSP Finprint Limited (1.5 million tonnes), Mysore Cement "� maker of Diamond brand cement (2 million tonnes) and Sandhya Prakash Limited (1.5 million tonnes). |
Speaking to Business Standard a senior government official said: "The companies may expand their production capacity. All these proposed investment are likely to come up in the state within three years of time. They all have signed deal with the state government at recently concluded Jabalpur investors' meet. |
Last year during September-October biggies like Sanghi Cement, Shree Cement, MSP Steel & Power, ACC and Birla Corporation had signed deal with state government either for capacity expansion or for new cement plants. |
